To deepen industry–education integration, expand practical training resources, and enhance the cultivation of application-oriented talent, Anhui Agricultural University’s College of Food Science and Nutrition and Anhui Garlicare Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. held a signing and unveiling ceremony for a jointly established Industry–Academia–Research Practice Base on October 26. Attendees from the university included Party Secretary Sun Fu, Associate Dean Liang Jin, Professor Gao Xueling, Associate Professor Sun Yue, and representatives of graduate students. From the company, Chairman Capa Cheung, Quality Manager Wang Yiyou, and Administration Manager Ding Li participated in the ceremony.

During the ceremony, leaders from both sides delivered remarks, discussing the background, objectives, and future direction of the collaboration. Party Secretary Sun Fu emphasized that the college has always upheld the principle of “research innovation serving industry needs and talent development aligning with sector growth.” He noted that establishing this practice base with Garlicare is a key step in strengthening industry–academia–research cooperation. Leveraging the college’s academic strengths and resources in food science and nutrition, he expressed the intention to work with Garlicare to explore a new model of deep integration, conduct joint research on key technologies, promote the commercialization of scientific results, and help bring laboratory innovations into production to better serve the market.

Professor Gao Xueling expressed appreciation for Garlicare’s effort in providing students with a practical training and employment platform. She proposed positioning the collaboration as an “extended R&D center” of the university and jointly promoting the comprehensive development and utilization of the garlic industry chain.

Associate Dean Liang Jin highlighted that innovation must remain the driving force of the practice base. He noted that both sides should strengthen internal capacity building while also integrating external resources to create synergy, thereby advancing talent development and injecting momentum into enterprise technology upgrades and product innovation.

Chairman Capa Cheung warmly welcomed Secretary Sun and his delegation. He introduced the company’s more than 20 years of dedication to Bio-Tech and food ingredients, with a focus on the comprehensive development and utilization of natural seasonings such as garlic and ginger. He stressed that R&D and innovation capacity are central to the company’s growth. Capa also agreed on the importance of university–enterprise collaboration in empowering industrial development and cultivating future talent. He expressed hopes to establish an efficient channel that aligns “industry needs” with “research capabilities,” achieving true synergy and mutual benefit.

Addressing the challenges faced by graduates entering the job market, Capa encouraged the attending students to build confidence, clarify their career goals, and maintain resilience and determination. He urged them to embrace trial and error, break through growth bottlenecks, and steadfastly pursue their chosen paths to achieve solid personal and professional development.

Quality Manager Wang Yiyou, who also serves as a graduate advisor at Anhui Agricultural University, noted that he bears both the responsibility of driving enterprise innovation and the duty of developing academic talent. He plans to break down barriers between academic and industry resources by incorporating industry-leading technologies and real-world cases into teaching. This, he said, will help graduate students align their research topics with practical enterprise needs and foster mutual reinforcement between education and technological innovation.

During the exchange session, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on technical issues, industry trends, and career development, further strengthening their shared vision for collaboration. Afterwards, in the presence of representatives from both sides, Secretary Sun Fu and Chairman Capa Cheung jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Industry–Academia–Research Practice Base of the College of Food Science and Nutrition, Anhui Agricultural University.”

Following the ceremony, Secretary Sun and his delegation visited Garlicare’s Testing and R&D Center, gaining deeper insight into the company’s product development, technological innovation, and traceability system.

The establishment of this joint practice base injects new energy into Garlicare’s development while expanding new pathways for discipline building and talent training at Anhui Agricultural University. Moving forward, both parties will continue deepening cooperation through this platform, working together to advance scientific innovation and high-quality development in the food industry in Anhui  and across China.
