A Historic Gathering for Regional Collaboration and Industry Advancement

2024 Pan-Yangtze River Delta Food Additives and Ingredients Association Alliance Joint Meeting Convenes in Anhui Hefei

 

November 29, 2024 – The 2024 Pan-Yangtze River Delta Food Additives and Ingredients Association Alliance Joint Meeting, hosted by the Anhui Food Additives and Ingredients Association and organized by Anhui Garlicare Bio-Tech Co., Ltd., was held at the Hefei Pullman Hotel. 

This marked the largest and most agenda-rich gathering in the alliance’s history, with nearly 30 leaders, experts, and delegates from six industry associations across four provinces (Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi) and two municipalities (Shanghai, Kunshan). Attendees included representatives from provincial and municipal associations, as well as Sun Xiaoqiang, Deputy General Manager of China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC) East China Regional Center.

 

Opening Remarks and Regional Collaboration
 

Wang Congchun, Chairman of the Anhui Association, welcomed delegates and highlighted the alliance’s decade-long collaboration: “Though Anhui’s association was established later, we are committed to innovation, development, and mutual success. We will continue bridging industry stakeholders and advancing the sector’s healthy growth.”

 

Professor Ji Heli, Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Association and a founding organizer of the alliance, chaired the meeting. He invited Capa Cheung, Vice Chairman of the Anhui Association and Chairman of Anhui Garlicare, to deliver a welcome address. Cheung emphasized the event’s significance: “This meeting will accelerate progress for the Pan-Yangtze River Delta industry, fostering synergy and shared prosperity.”

 

2024 Work Plans from Regional Associations

 

  • Jiangxi Association: Secretary-General Deng Danwen outlined efforts to enhance compliance through legal training, industry standards evaluation, and platform-building for member collaboration.
  • Jiangsu Association: Chen Qiuqiang, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, reported issuing 37 export health certificates in 2024 to boost international market access and supporting enterprises in achieving “Green Factory” and “Single Champion” certifications.
  • Zhejiang Association: Secretary-General He Chunyi highlighted initiatives like the monthly Zhejiang Food Additives News, international exhibition delegations, and industry-academia collaboration sessions to drive technological innovation.
  • Kunshan Association: Chairman Wang Jianfei emphasized strengthening alliance leadership under the Shanghai Association’s guidance while leveraging Kunshan’s expertise in industry self-regulation, international cooperation, and market expansion.

 

Shanghai Association’s Pioneering Initiatives
Professor Ji Heli detailed Shanghai’s 2024 achievements:

 

  • Conducted the 6th industry-wide professional title evaluations, certifying 199 senior engineers over the past decade.
  • Collaborated with CCIC to develop naturalness certification standards for food ingredients, aligning with national policies to promote natural additives and flavors.
  • Launched training programs to cultivate natural flavor and fragrance experts, reinforcing the sector’s talent pipeline.

 

Outcomes and Future Vision
 

The meeting underscored the alliance’s role in fostering industry self-regulation, innovation, and sustainable growth across the Pan-Yangtze River Delta. By enhancing cross-regional cooperation, sharing best practices, and aligning with national policies, the event set the stage for elevating brand competitiveness, advancing green development, and driving high-quality economic progress in the food additives and ingredients sector.
